CHIMIXIYA….A VILLAGE OF DEVASTATION

And the mud came down….

The soccer field…..

Standing near the home of the family that lost their lives in the mudslide…

“Where, oh death, is your victory?  Where, oh death, is your sting?” I Cor. 15:55

Bringing in the food….

There are still some smiles in the village…..

They also love technology…..

One family built the team a brand new outhouse….complete with a turkey “watch dog”.

And…..it had toilet paper….a real plus!

Each family member received a bath towel complete with a bar of soap,

toothbrush, toothpaste and floss.

Helping them carry the 40lbs of groceries home…10 lbs of rice, beans, corn flour,

sugar and a gallon of oil.

Weaving in progress….

This gal is in grade 10, on a scholarship….this is her project for her family

She has been home the past week due to fainting in class….stress from what

is going on in her village to studying….

Debbie and “her” kids….

Judy and this gal had a good laugh together….

Judy had asked her how many children she had and she

answered “8”…how many grandchildren…..75….75!!!!

But you don’t even have white hair????  She laughed….

“THREE CUPS OF TEA….”

In reading this book you will discover that the first cup of tea is drank

outside of the courtyard.  The second cup, when you are invited is inside the

courtyard, and the third cup, when you have been invited to sit in their home.

You have now been ACCEPTED!

We prayed, we cried, we hugged, we LISTENED ….we brought

in food and necessities.

We were now ACCEPTED….and welcomed to work in this village….

It was not in the food or necessities, it was that we came and LISTENED  with our eyes

and ears.
