Back home…..

We met Ronaldo 2.5 years ago when he first came to the

Fraser Valley to work on a pepper farm….since then

we have been in contact with his family in Guatemala.

He arrived home a week ago…it was great to visit them as a complete family.

…Paulina, Ronaldo’s beautiful wife…..

…they live in one of these houses….

they have been displaced twice by the government because

of hurricane damage to their home.  There are 160

families living in this colony.

…meet Wilber “Willy”….their first grandchild…..

…Ilda, Kevin, Philip, Rosa, Paulina, Rolando, David

Judy, Blanca, Willy, Heydi….

…it is so great to have my papa back home….

Ronaldo is gone for two years and has 2.5 months vacation…..

…just having fun…

…we went to see the damage that Hurricane Agatha had done in TecPan…

this was one of the rocks that came through the creek…..the kids are all cousins…

11 families lost their homes and 6 people perished.

…one shy cousin….

…a dry creek bed with a lot of extra rocks…

…these little ones have a new tin home….

Too often we underestimate,

the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word,

a listening ear, an honest compliment,

or the smallest act of caring,

all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” Leo F. Buscaglia
