GIVING is so much FUN….

When the team built houses for the two widows, we needed to furnish them as well…

So beds, mattresses, tables, chairs, linens, dishes, cutlery we purchased….and the trek began…

…Juan and his family were in Antigua so they picked up all the furnishings…

…we still had one chicken coop at our house and knew that Santa

needed some income….living on $1.00 every two days is not enough…

So we loaded the chicken coop, groceries and the boxes of dishes and off we went…

another 3 hour tour (one way)!

…one of our favourite places to shop….bulk buying…

…in Canada the fruit is mandarin oranges for Christmas….

here it is Washington red delicious apples and grapes….

we bought a box to give to the church in Quiacquix…

…a stop along the way for saw dust for the chicken coop..

…Santa is reassuring the chicks that they have found a good home…..

…time for the chicks to move to their condo…

…the new beds have been used and are warm!….

…wrapped in the towels are toiletries, school supplies and a small

gift for Julia….

…someone is breaking into the roof…..

…we decided to try the pop bottle/light idea and it works….

…for the size of Santa’s house we need three of them….

and if the roof was laminate it would work even better…..

…from this….yes bring your own paper!…

to

…a toilet and a shower ….enclosed….you still need to bring your own paper!…

….thank you to a group from the Gleaners who provide us with wooden cars….

…all kids like toys….

…we hand the cars out randomly…on the road, in the cities, in villages…

they have also stopped a lot of tears!

…..even girls enjoy cars….

…having fun….

…I am fashion model material….

La Diva a Guatemala!…

…we never see Guatemala through tinted glasses…

There is always a reality check every time we leave the house…

“Today more than a billion people in the world live and die in desperate poverty.

They attempt to survive on less than a dollar per day.

Close to two billion others live on less than two dollars per day.

That’s nearly half the world struggling today to find food, water,

and shelter with the same amount of money I spend on french fries for lunch.”
