Get OUTTATOWN…..

For one week we had 5, 18 year olds living in our house……

They attend a program, Outtatown, from Winnipeg, Manitoba,

through Canadian Mennonite University……

They worked, played and served……

Meet Evan, Natasha, Maria, Christina, Soyeon….

…Checking out our first project….

Renovating an old saw mill…..what did we get ourselves into????

….this is not going to be easy!….

…one more brick….

…we are not sure what these are for but were told to move them…

No, Cristina is not taking a power nap…..

…lots of sweeping=lots of dust…

…thank you Marvin for helping…

…”Listen to me, we can do this!!!!”…

…time for a rest….

…Ta dah!  the bricks are done….

…done….

…no the guys are not going fishing….

…is there a doctor in the house?????

…time to paint….

We used paint that had been sitting for 10 years…

Actually the lumps covered quite well….

…thank you David for helping us….

…is this really the same place?????

…packing 800 lbs of food….

…Philip’s favourite toy…

He thinks it can move mountains!

…we need to put a room here….

This arbor was made of very heavy wood….

….I like you too….

…ok, how do I get down…

…yikes, this thing is heavy and we only have to move 3 more!…

….on the move….

…digging out the new spot…

….hey, Evan, how come you are sitting and I am working????…

…this thing is so heavy we need to laugh or we may collapse!…

…Cristina, are we level…

…one panel up, 6 more to go…

…the windows for the back wall…

….well, girls, this is the last day here….

….the team helped us serve soup three evenings….

…we took the team to the Valhallen Macadamia Nut Farm…..

and of course everyone had to have a facial….

…it was a great week!

Thank you for all your hard work, your smiles, your hugs…

We must learn before we can prepare.

We must prepare before we can serve.

We must serve before we can lead.”

  1. Hi Phil
We are really enjoying your pictures and the work you are doing,we are volunteering in Dinuba Ca. with Gleanings For Hungry.Packing soup mix and Trail Mix.Today I was repairing trays for drying fruit.
    God Bless Menno & Vi

    • Wow…we could use Trail mix here….
We had 6 women accept the Lord last night….so awesome as they are all Catholic.
We live in the most Catholic area of Guatemala…so we have our work cut out for us…
Gleaners soup is always welcome here and we serve it 3 x a week.
      Blessings to you..
      Judy and PHil
