Canadians + Guatemala=Love Guatemala

Love Guatemala was looking for a widow, or single mom that we could build a house for when the Canadian team arrived…when we visited the home of a new sponsor student, we just knew that this is where God wanted us to build a house.

The sunlight coming in from the roof means that some or a lot of the lamina on the roof was missing…which also meant that the dirt floor became a river when it rained.

..Hannah Montana is going to have to find another home…

…the girls room…

…the kitchen…the house has not electricity so the fridge holds pots and pans…

…the house is 7 meters by 5 meters….this is the only storage they have…no shower

..we asked them if they could clean out the inside of the house so that when the team came back on Friday they could start working on the foundation…when the team arrived they had almost the entire house taken down….and now the works begins…

..the girls are busy staining the boards for the house…

yes, we are building a two story wooden house.

….thank you gals, actually they are all from Saskatchewan…

Judy, Brookelin, Brynn, Mercedes and Cora

…Melanie was the Master Sander…

..Fredene the carrier of the wood…

…these three, Nicole, Kimi and Peter have another project…

They are painting a mural on the Esperanza school wall…

18 feet by 11 feet

…we did some door to door invitations to our Vacation Bible School…

we ran out of invitations (100 were handed out)

IMG_0874 of the moms reading the invitation to her daughters…

…part of the fun is taking a tuktuk ride when you are shopping…

not sure who was more excited the team or the drivers!

…checking out the market…

…she was very determined to get all the seeds out

of the papaya

…we had pizza for lunch and then handed out the left overs…

this family was so excited to receive this….”Cristo te ama”

..not all of our team is into shopping!

Wayne does enjoy construction so he will have his days of joy!

What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like.
