After three earthquakes in a week (6.9, 5 ad 6.8) and then heavy rain

the residents of Vista Hermosa were given an hour to pack up and get out.

The first evening 27 left and 23 stayed…..we got a call at 7pm asking if we could

provide dinner for the families.  “When??”  “8 pm”…..ok then…we provided fresh coffee,

and bean sandwiches.  They came by families, sadness and stress filled their eyes.

The ones I spoke to said they were “fine” “really???” “no, I am so scared!”

We fed, we prayed and we hugged…..

The second night it was ham sandwiches an beans and then BLANKETS!

The Disater Team had provided very thin blankets for the families and when

Pablo, 7, came and asked “lady, I am so cold, do you have a warmer blanket??”

I went home and emailed friends, within the hour we had funds to purchase

50 quilts.  The staff at the grocery store were excited to help me load

them in the truck when they found out who would be receiving them.

They have all moved back home, three houses are no longer in use.

One of the local schools provided help and materials to shore up the

mountain and rebuild some of the homes.
