Pancakes, Ham and coffee…..

When I returned from Canada in February, I was met at the

soup kitchen by some of the bus drivers “isn’t it time for breakfast???”

I laughed and said “it probably is.”  So the junior leaders helped us set up,

mix the pancakes, fry the ham and serve….many of the bus drivers grabbed their

plates and left….some came back for seconds when they returned to the bus

terminal.  They each got to take runners or t-shirts for their families..

They are not liked by the general public…many people think that

they work for the extortionists…..

I just pray that God keeps them safe…..

To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless.

A Gift of Love….

It is always fun to surprise a group of seniors at the senior drop in day center.

We were given donations to buy soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes.

The kids at Fiesta del Ninos were excited to pack gift bags and then

present them to each senior, with a hug and “Cristo te ama”

“Christ loves you”…to finish off the afternoon a Mariachi came in

to perform…..and then we had dessert….

The gift bags were accepted with joy and tears….many of these people

do not receive gifts unless LGC gives them….

There are many in the world who are dying for a piece of bread, but there are many more dying for a little love. ~Mother Teresa

I cannot tell you how often we heard “I am not worthy of this”  and then we  would explain to Ezekiel that God thought he was worthy and friends in Canada had also thought so and this is the result… many grateful tears…..thank you to those of you who made this possible……bless you

The City asked us to leave our soup kitchen and move into a tiny space

last January as we were going to be moved to a new location…new

building, second floor.  We were told we would be in the new building

in March, June, September and it should be happening in a weeks time…

Yeah….the girls can hardly wait….

Patience is not the ability to wait,

but the ability to keep a good attitude

while waiting….
